Obsession Round 2, Vonnegut, and Apocalypstick

Obsession Round 2, Vonnegut, and Apocalypstick

Went and saw Obsession again today and it was even better the second time around. I picked up on a lot more little crumbs and nuanced details. It's the best movie of the year, with The Bone Temple coming in a close second. I'm not even exaggerating. It's so good.

KURT VONNEGUT JR

A drawing of Kurt Vonnegut Jr

Still drawing in pencil. I feel like I've somehow leveled up a bit with this drawing. It's like, another gear for me. I don't know what to do with this newfound skill, but I should SOMETHING with it. For now, I'll continue to draw my heroes and scenes from movies.

This one in particular I'm really, really proud of. Kurt Vonnegut was extremely important to me as a young man. As an old man as well, but when I was in my twenties, oh god, I loved Kurt Vonnegut. I couldn't shut up about Kurt Vonnegut. Slaughterhouse Five and Breakfast of Champions and Cat's Cradle and Slapstick and Welcome to the Monkey House, and especially Mother Night and God Bless You Mr Rosewater. I read all of those books and more. Many times.
