Update

Two things happened in quick succession. The first is that I was pulling into my driveway in the dark, and I hit the little retaining wall on the side of our driveway, popped my rear tire, and screwed up the wheel. It might be bent. Anyway, I'm sure it's going to cost a bajillion dollars that I don't have, so that's pretty swell.

The other thing that happened is that our little girl, Willow, is very sick. I think it's her teeth, but it could also be several things. She's stopped eating, and that's pretty bad. We took her to an emergency vet last night, and he took a look at her but didn't have much experience with degus, which is understandable. He gave her some painkillers that don't seem to be doing much beyond making her stoned, but that might be okay too, if she's in pain.

She has an appointment tomorrow morning with the regular vet we see for our degus, and hopefully, he can help her. I'm also fully aware (and not at all prepared) that I won't come home with her. So that's something that sucks.

Otherwise, Sandra and I are just trying to stay on top of Willow's meds, get her to eat, and keep strong for each other and for Willow. It's pretty hard though.

Anyway, that's it for now. We're not caught up on Stranger Things, but I'm okay with that. I'm not in a huge hurry. Got other things on my mind.
